Title: Discovering Serenity of Mind: My Journey to Akshardham Temple in Delhi
The center of the city’s hustle and bustle is the very location where the temple of tranquility and spirituality—Akshardham Temple—stands. Having been an adventurous type of a person, I was keen to penetrate this ancient cultural symbol in search of the unknown behind the tranquil ambiance and its soulful detailed features.

On encountering temple complex, I have seen the high spires and numerous carvings which almost look as if they are in essence to be the very gateways to the past which we still perceive as mysterious. The mesmerizing size of the master artwork left me in awe as it occurred that the effort and craftability that went into its production bore more than enough consideration.
I began to feel like a weight lifted off my shoulders as I entered the temple where I was overwhelmed with peace and serenity as if I was engulfed in a serene whispering wind. It was as though the God the Almighty was made tangible and was mourning along with all the people who were hindering to come close to him and started to revere his grand golden idol of God Swaminarayan.
Walking around the infected gardens and magnificent shade of the well-designed grounds, I felt I was into a world where unruffled beauty and harmony existed. The peace-filled environment was radiant among the artistic water fountains that contrasted with the very organic plants that dressed up the landing pathways. In my opinion, Akshardham Temple seemed like a piece of heaven.
Despite it all, I however, sensed the primordial simplicity among the grandeur which actually, carried the deepest sense of spirituality. This place had a soothing effect on me both when I was observing the mountainous landscape from the temple’s observation deck and when I enjoyed the super-impressive fountain show.
At the end of my a reluctant leave-taking of Akshardham Temple, not only my memories but a state of peace and renewal is with me which would always keep me with me for a long time to come. Curiously, in that holy place the surrounding craziness of the world blurs, which is replaced by the sanctuary from the soul—a place being the place of the meeting of the earthly and divine, and of the journey of self-discovery beginning again.
